Find the viscosity quickly and easily.

I'm thrilled to finally share Viscum, my research project that merges my love for coding and physics. You know those classic viscosity experiments? Well, I built a tool that lets you ditch the stopwatch! Viscum is a super cool piece of software that uses computer vision—and yes, I threw in some Kalman filtering—to accurately track a ball falling through liquid, giving you the viscosity based on Stokes' Law. It’s built with a clean, professional GUI, spits out real-time results, and even generates nice little graphs so you don't have to crunch the numbers by hand. This was a challenging but fun way to apply code to a real-world engineering problem. I presented my research at APS DFD, Houston in session https://schedule.aps.org/dfd/2025/events/U21/3. If you're into hands-on science, check out the repository; I'd love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think!
